Working group Tandem working group

The Tandem working group offers international students the opportunity to receive professional support and preparation for studying law in Germany right from the start of their studies. It helps to overcome language barriers, encourages active participation in lessons and thus makes it easier to start the demanding law degree course.

The working group is aimed specifically at international participants who are studying for the state examination in their first semester and is offered in the winter semester. As part of the working group, legal cases are worked on so that students can learn and intensively practise the expert opinion style. At the same time, they have the opportunity to ask technical questions and clarify uncertainties. Working in small groups and receiving individual support creates a safe and supportive environment in which participants can actively participate without inhibitions. This is particularly important for international first-year students, as starting a law degree in Germany is often associated with language and subject-related challenges. The Tandem working group serves to overcome these challenges and to strengthen the language skills of foreign students.
