Program Semester Program of the TandemProgram
Program
The Tandem-Program is characterized by a combination of an academic program and relaxed leisure events.
Current challenges and international issues are highlighted by experts at lectures, discussion evenings and movie nights. Here in particular, the exchange between lawyers from different countries can be very beneficial and open up new perspectives.
At the same time, numerous excursions and events in a relaxed atmosphere offer a good opportunity to get to know each other, make contacts and forge international friendships.
Opening evening
- At the opening evening at the beginning of the semester, the tandems get to know each other for the first time. Afterwards, there is the opportunity to exchange ideas with other tandem participants in a relaxed atmosphere.
Lectures
-
An important part of the Tandem program are lectures on various current topics by well-known personalities from politics and law.
Excursions
- Joint excursions in the Heidelberg area offer a great opportunity to get to know each other better and visit exciting places. We visit places steeped in history such as Hambach Castle, visit the Kurpfälzisches Museum in Heidelberg and other local museums, stroll through Schwetzingen Palace Gardens or simply meet up for a cozy punch at the Christmas market or a walk along the Philosophenweg.
Movie evening with discussion round
- Films are a good opportunity to debate current topics and exchange views on various issues. Where possible, we watch the films in English or with English subtitles.
Mensa get-together
- We meet regularly at the Mensa get-together in the Marstall canteen. In an informal atmosphere, we can report on the experiences of the past week and have interesting conversations.
Potluck - end of semester
- The semester in the Tandem-Program is traditionally rounded off with a potluck. Everyone brings a typical dish from their home country and at the same time can sample the wide range of dishes on offer from the other participants. This event is also a great opportunity to review the past semester.
