Faculty

Welcome on the website of the Faculty of Law of Heidelberg University. Together with the Faculties of Theology and of Philosophy, the Faculty of Law belongs to the three faculties that originated in 1386, when Heidelberg University, the oldest university of what is now the Federal Republic of Germany, was founded. The Faculty of Law is currently among the most prestigious faculties of law within Germany and the European Union regarding academic research and publishing activities as well as its teaching activities and degree programs.

Research

Within the nine institutes of the Faculty of Law twenty-three professorships guide and carry through academic research and teach courses based on it. 

Studying at the Faculty of Law

The focus of the Faculty of Law is on a first class education aiming at systematic understanding and methodological skills in dealing with the core areas of law and the foundations of law closely associated with them.
